ARETE is a campaign aimed towards igniting the creative expression of young people. It draws out creative perspectives on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic whilst enabling young people to think critically. The campaign name, ARETE, represents the high potential of young people in informing society’s aspirations, attitudes, behaviour and values.

As students and educational institutions observe the lockdown, young minds are being subjected to a deluge of information on COVID-19 – the news, the facts and the myths. This is bound to threaten the mental health of young people, an impressionable audience and, they must be allowed to share their accomplishments, challenges and solutions through creative expression.

Young people are invited to respond through the following creative formats:

  • Poetry
  • Fiction
  • Non-Fiction
  • Topic Essay
  • Opinion

Catering for young people between 12-24 years-old, the campaign will run during the course of the lockdown.
