The pandemic has brought about profound economic level changes that have left many compromised on various levels. The sudden stop to time as we contracted it has been disrupted by the prompt to stay indoors. This has left the nation with an immense sense of angst and uncertainty.


Whilst these are the obvious changes, the pandemic has brought about profound yet nuanced changes to the everyday lives of those financially stable enough to stay indoors, and furthermore have to access to the digital world. While the content of platforms like Instagram has softened and reflected the gentle creative shifts taking place in our homes.

It has forced us to look at the world creatively and to look inwards for emotional refuge, an option not many people have access to. This work highlights, quite literally, the call to pay closer attention to the ultraviolet glow of our screens in order to empathise with and address the silent screams for national change, with creative solutions and critical engagement.
