The Outside World represents the separation of societies due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Families, couples, and friends have been forced apart, trapped in their homes, unable to visit each other. The figure is holding a phone, highlighting the rise of technology in an attempt to keep people together. The bars are the separation of people, both from one another and the outside.
It can be grey, the mental toll represented by colour. The beauty of being outside, of finding a way to cope is much harder, stuck both by bars, but the pandemic is the contrast of colour, the ability to go and see others. It is being alone, but the difficulty of learning to see beauty from afar and staying in contact with people you love. Society has been separated, changing life and posing new challenges.
