The separation from my friends and loved ones has been hard on me as with everyone. The pandemic has erected what feels like walls of oceans between loved ones, waves which hit hard and high on the worst of days. I took to social media platforms, more than before to stay connected.

The web which penetrates even through the physical barriers that have been set up for everyone’s safety against COVID-19 is proving to be invaluable. Living in a very remote rural community, unfortunately, or perhaps, fortunately, I ran out of my accustomed painting materials which left me in a rut but allowed for trying new materials and exploring new techniques.

After some good scavenging, I happened upon some fabric dye, manila, white tape, and coloured pencils to create a unique integrated canvas, reflective of the diversity of communication channels that together are ultimately one, keeping us coupled to our families and friends.
