The idea of freedom of choice is being elevated in society. The #nojudgment trend and #youdoyouboo. You’d think that today you can say and do anything, support or not support certain things as well. However I’ve found that this is not the case. It is fine to share your opinion or speak up for the things that are in the status quo, and people will say it’s okay, it’s your opinion and you have the right to have one… That is until you say you don’t agree with certain ideologies or certain beliefs or movements, that’s when you need to shut up or you’ll face serious consequences.
Now I’m not promoting hate here, I’m just saying that whatever the case may be… Whether we agree or disagree, at the end of the day we should all treat each other with love and respect and know that regardless of what the other person thinks or believes, we are all in charge of our own lives. Bombarding or slapping your opinion in someone’s face doesn’t mean that they are now going to change themselves because of the way you presented your opinion.
I believe that, especially as we mature, we should be able to sit at a table, be civil, and get the job done…. That’s called maturity.
What we need to realize is that today, in this world, there are so many movements, so many ideologies that many might accept and many may reject, but regardless of what our opinions are, that shouldn’t stop us from respecting each other and progressing in this world PERIOD.
