Poets, in spite of Covid-19 and the lockdown that came with it, have been poets and refused to let the masks take from them what they love and use best, their voice!

Much to the delight of connoisseurs of poetry and spoken word, Moto Republik and Page Poetry Alive will be hosting SLAM ZW which will be Zimbabwe’s first ever digital poetry slam.

The slam will be running from the 10th to the 17th of April with updates being posted on both Moto Republik and Page Poetry Alive’s social media pages where viewers will also get the chance to not only view their favourite artist’s work, but to vote for them.

Prizes are as follows: USD300 for first place, USD200 for the runner up & USD150 for 3rd place.

Artists registered so far include Marondera-based dub poetry artiste, Tanaka Ects Chuma; serial artivist and spoken word artist, Tanyaradzwa “Yanta Limey” Ngundu; as well as King of Harare Rap Battles, Dalitso “Illuminatus” Ndlovu.
