The concept of how we learn in Africa is slowly catching up with the continent. For many years governments sent learners to developed countries for education. What was possibly never a problem was the cost that comes with taking learners overseas. Beyond the economic crunch many governments and sponsors for education are already coming up with ways to reduce expenditure, sponsorships and grants for education. This calls for new ways in approaching education and ensuring it’s a life learning activity. Online/offline media exploitation can be the very strategy to catalyze access to education and information for Sustainable Development goals through new phenomenon like transnational education which is still to be put to test in Africa. Technology remains the corners stone for innovation and development and indeed the Internet of things (IoT) which enables collection and exchange of information if harnessed can assist Africa reach the extreme neglected areas for engagement. |
